Ricky Zheng, head personal trainer and owner at Catalyst Strength

HEAD PERSONAL TRAINER

Ricky Zheng is the Head Personal Trainer at Catalyst Strength. He studied at the University of Illinois Chicago, and holds a B.S. in Human Nutrition with a minor in Kinesiology.

 

Ricky is certified through the American Council of Exercise (ACE) and has over 4 years of personal training experience, working with clients from diverse age groups and backgrounds. When working with Ricky, he will create a personal plan accommodating your goals, needs, and schedule. His specialties include general strength training, corrective exercise, and powerlifting coaching, with an emphasis on movement quality, injury prevention, and sustainable progress.

Ricky is available for private 1-on-1 sessions as well as semi private sessions for those looking to work together!

SYDNEY TENNILL

PERSONAL TRAINER

Sydney is a NASM certified Personal Trainer who is passionate about helping clients create a life-long relationship with fitness.

 

Through her combined experience of working in corporate fitness and competing in powerlifting, she brings both a high level of technical knowledge as well as a beginner-friendly approach to training. Sydney is passionate about centering fitness around what your body is capable of and making fitness accessible to each and every person. Sydney specializes in strength training, working with people new to the gym, and beginner powerlifting coaching. When she’s not in the gym, you can find Sydney attempting another TikTok recipe or reading the latest romance novel with her cat, Barbell.

Sydney can be booked for 1-on-1 sessions as well as semi-private sessions for those interested in getting stronger with friends!

As a former NCAA DI athlete I felt that I had plateaued when it came to strength and conditioning. In looking for a personal trainer I wanted someone who could challenge and guide me through proper techniques in order to reach my goals. Ricky has done that and more. During the first two weeks of training with Ricky helped me fixed my back squat, deadlift and bench form. Now, two months later, I have surpassed my previous PRs and have continued to build strength in addition to improving my flexibility and overall fitness.

Ricky has also helped me train while coming back from a knee injury by incorporating exercises into our sessions that compliment the treatment I’ve been getting at physical therapy. He also pays attention to detail during training and even the smallest of tweaks has helped me improve immensely.

Camp Catalyst is a high-energy, station-based strength class designed to challenge your whole body and keep you moving. Every session blends functional strength, conditioning, and mobility work in a fast-paced format that’s never the same twice. Expect to sweat, push your limits, and have fun training alongside others who bring the same energy.
